Equipment Operator-Underground Division

Job Summary:

This job requires the operation of one or more types of heavy power equipment such as skid loader, dozer, front-end loader, excavator and other pieces of equipment used in underground utility construction. Responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing. Takes instruction from Foreman and assists with groundwork if required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.

Follow company and OSHA/MSHA safety procedures. Bring concerns to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent or Safety Director.

Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.

Follow daily procedures and protocols set forth in job orientation and training.

Relate to co-workers and the public in a courteous and respectful manner.

Required to help out when and where necessary including operation of other equipment and other manual labor.

Education/Experience: HS diploma or equivalent GED required: minimum one season of operating heavy equipment in asphalt and road construction.

Must be able to pass a drug screen. Must be able to work flexible hours and extensive travel is required. Travel is mostly throughout ND & SD.

Excellent wages ($33.20-$35.00 per hour) and $22.45 per hour fringe (Health Insurance Premiums paid 100%)
